GRP (Glass Reinforced Plastic), Fiberglass or Glass Reinforced Polyester are all names for a material manufactured by combining millions of small fibres or glass rods with a special thermoset resins to create an incrediably light but strong durable product. GRP can be translucent, opaque or coloured, moulded, reinforced, shaped, pressed or bonded. It is used to manufacture diverce products from swimming pools to super yachts, but for our purposes, its Anti-slip angles, plates and stair nosings.
In addition to the standard products we stock in Dublin, we also offer bespoke options, where the angles or stair nosings, can be any length, any depth, any colour (RAL) including glow in the dark and any shape, in fact the only limit is transportation constraints and your imagination! Lead time on special items is about 3 working weeks from signoff.
The anti-slip grit used is a Fused-Alumina or Quartz and is available in the following grades:
- Ultra-Fine (Barefoot)
- Fine
- Medium
- Coarse
- Ultra-Coarse
All our GRP products are supplied with a medium grit as standard, and is the default for bespoke items unless otherwise specified.
