In the past, a website ending .IE signified the site was Irish, but sadly not any more. As Brexit was becoming a reality, a large number of UK based companies were able to secured .IE domains, leading many Irish shoppers to believe they were dealing with an Irish business when this was not the case.
Brexit has caused longer delivery times, and in some cases additional VAT and import Tariff’s. It is vital that all Irish shoppers check out who and where the companies they are buy on-line actually operate from. Not only may you incur additional costs not shown at checkout, but the consumer rights and returns options you have come to expect may no longer be applicable.
