Manufactured in Europe, our clear polystyrene sheeting is sometimes called “artificial glass” because it looks just like it. Because it is from the plastic family, it is impact resistant and will not shatter like traditional glass, making it a much safer option. 4mm thick is normally used for glazing options while the 2mm thick sheets are often used as replacement glass for picture frames or as a protective covering.
Tekni Glass – Clear Polystyrene Sheets
Tekni glass is a transparent polystyrene sheet often used as an alternative to sheet glass. It’s advantages are that it is impact resisant so is safer and it is easy to work with using basic DIY tools. Cutting straight or curved lines is easy with a standard rotary blade or jigsaw and can be drilled and glued to create many interesting display cases. Available in 2 or 4mm thickness in 5 sizes, it has the same light transparency as glass.
